Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Agriculture is a critical sector in Zuru LGA, Kebbi State, providing livelihoods and contributing to food security. However, challenges such as low productivity, lack of modern techniques, and limited access to markets hinder agricultural development. Public relations (PR) can drive agricultural transformation by promoting best practices, disseminating information, and facilitating stakeholder engagement. PR initiatives can enhance awareness of government policies, agricultural programs, and funding opportunities.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Despite the importance of agriculture in Zuru LGA, many farmers lack access to information and resources needed for sustainable practices. This study examines the role of PR in addressing these challenges and promoting agricultural development.

1.3 Objectives of the Study

  1. To evaluate the role of PR in promoting agricultural development in Zuru LGA.

  3. H2: Addressing challenges enhances PR efforts in agricultural development.

1.6 Significance of the Study
The study provides actionable recommendations for policymakers, agricultural agencies, and PR professionals to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability in Zuru LGA.

1.7 Scope and Limitations of the Study
The study focuses on PR strategies for agricultural development in Zuru LGA, Kebbi State, excluding other sectors or regions.
